Dear Journal Seekers,
I hope this post finds you well and thriving in your unique journeys. The love and support you've shown for the "Health Diaries: Notes from Nursing School" series have been truly heartwarming. Your messages and comments fuel my passion to continue sharing this incredible journey with you.
As a token of appreciation, I've decided to treat you to a little something special today. But before we dive into that, mark your calendars because the next installment of Health Diaries is set to air as scheduled on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 11 am. Be sure to carve out some time and catch up on previous blogs to keep the momentum flowing.
Now, let's delve into the heart of today's treat – the reason I chose the path of nursing. It's a story close to my heart, a story that begins with the woman who inspired it all: my mother. She harbored dreams of becoming a nurse, dreams that circumstances denied her. Financial constraints and lack of emotional support held her back, but her knowledge and recommendations in the field remain invaluable.
My decision to become a nurse was my tribute to her unfulfilled dream. Through hard work and dedication, I earned my qualifications and embarked on this challenging but rewarding journey. Reflecting on the sacrifices she made for our family fueled my determination during tough times. I became a licensed registered nurse over six years ago, working right here in Jamaica.
To those currently on their nursing journey, I share this with you as a reminder that every challenge you face is an opportunity for growth. There were moments I wanted to give up, but the 'why' behind my journey kept me going – for us, for the dreams that extend beyond ourselves.
I encourage you, dear journey seekers, to persevere. The road may be tough, but your 'why' will carry you through. Hold onto the passion that ignited your journey and let it light your path.
And now, for the treat – plans for the future. I am currently in the process of creating a clinical book to aid you in your studies. Additionally, a review book tailored for specific courses and a journal adorned with the Health Diaries seal of approval are in the works. There's so much more in store, and I can't wait for you to join me on this exciting journey.
